While trying to work out where the figs come from I stumbled on an article about women who vote against their own interests... I linked it at the bottom of my response.. I am afraid that that phenomenon exists and while it does then it serves against both men and women in the persuit of true empowerment for both gender.
That depends on what the person believes is "in a woman's interest". I do not believe the right to an abortion is in a woman's best interest. Or believe that anyone is calling for making contraception illegal (NO ONE is) If you compare Trump's comment's to Bill Clinton, you have not much difference...but Hillary is still with him and defended him, even attacking his accusers. So if voting based on personality...do you stay home?
So I did not vote against my interests as a woman....I just have different interests.
Thanks for your response m2c... I am sure you are aware that I merely offered a link to an article I had found.. I didn't express an opinion either way.. I didn't say anyone is saying contracteption should be illegal..I am aware that in the states there are some religious areas where it's harder to get contraception.. and I know that it's not *free* like it is here so those factors will cause difficulties and could result in unwanted pregnancies.. but i really didn't get into that.. I am happy for you to discuss those things..as long as you understand I wasnt saying that. I would be interested in examples of Clinton's speech re women? I've never heard anything like the things Trump said .. but if I had.. you can rest assured that I would dislike Bill CLinton as much as I dislike Trump.. my dislike of Trump is because he offends my sense of decency. how decent people behave.. he has no class, it offends me. he also has no respect.. that offends me..
I could never vote for someone as truly unpleasant and lacking in common decency and humanity as Trump.. he behaves badly.... I'd vote for someone else... anyone one else...
I know we have discussed abortion before.. I understand your stance.. mine is pro choice and I believe it's in a woman's interests and I cite as evidence for that that the women who choose that believe that it is in their interests and I guess my humanity makes me feel that who are we to judge we cannot know better than them what is best for them... that's my feeling... you are aware, I know that a baby of mine was killed... in that case it was definitely in my best interests and my kids, or Id have been dead :(
No, you didn't say anyone was trying to outlaw contraption but the link you posted said Trump would outlaw it. Yes, Trump said some disgusting things. Bill Clinton has been accused of disgusting things as well...sexual harassment, and rape included. Hillary called them... trailer trash, bimbos, sl*ts, threatened to destroy them etc. I understand she was the one cheated on but in the case of harassment and rape the women she was attacking were not willing participants.
. I do seem to be mistaken, however, my 52% is married people not just married women. Clinton did win married women. (49%-47%) Trump won 52% all men voters. and 52% of white female voters. http://www.cnn.com/election/results/exit-polls
Hello O.. fascinating to see you engaging again in one of your two fav topics of late.. haters and sour grapes seem somewhat of a preoccupation of late for you?
Anyways... I would be most interested in knowing where you get this fig from.. to be fair and logical we cannot really know for sure as votes are anonymous and all we could possibly go on are exit polls and polls in general.. which as you know are not fact... so the stats on this are, we have to accept not fact but supposition..
Now that said... I am left wondering.. is it that 52% of all women voted for him? or that 52% of the women who did vote, voted for him. or is it that 52% of those who voted for him were women? See these things matter.. they change the perspective...
From what I see it's that 52% of those who voted, according to exit polls were white women.. or men... that's hardly news tho is it? We know that.. there are erm a lot of less educated people in your country... and those were the ones who voted for him... he struck a chord with the less educated and right wing tendencies... we knew that..
I've not seen any data that breaks down marital status. I'm curious as to how this info would be obtained, as I've never seen a request for marital status on any ballot I've ever completed, and I've voted in different precincts in multiple states. If it's not too much trouble, could you please post links to your sources? I'm not disagreeing with you, by the way. This may be accurate as accurate as my post. 52-53% of WHITE women DID vote for Trump. It certainly isn't impossible that 52% of married women as well as 52% of white women voted for Trump. Do you disagree that 52% of white women voted for Trump? Do you have any sources that dispute that? I've listed several that do support that below.
The first link is from Pew Research Center, a "nonpartisan fact tank that does not take policy positions". Following is a quote from this first link:
"Women supported Clinton over Trump by 54% to 42%. This is about the same as the Democratic advantage among women in 2012 (55% Obama vs. 44% Romney) and 2008 (56% Obama vs. 43% McCain). By 53% to 41%, more men supported Trump than Clinton (the 12-point margin is identical to the margin by which women supported Clinton). The advantage for Trump among men is larger than the 7-point advantage Romney had in 2012 and much different than in 2008, when men preferred Obama over McCain by a single point. Trump’s performance among men is similar to that of George W. Bush in the 2004 and 2000 elections, where he won men by 11 points in each election. The gender gap in presidential vote preference is among the widest in exit polls dating back to 1972. However, it is not dramatically higher than in some other recent elections, including the 2000 contest between Bush and Al Gore."
They get the info by doing exit polls. I do seem to be mistaken, however, it is 52% is married people not just married women. Clinton did win married women. (49%-47%) Trump did win 52% of all men, and yes as you said 52% of white female voters. ...my apologies.

Apathy got Trump elected. 52% of white married women WHO ACTUALLY VOTED should have been that stat, a sizable percentage believed that Billary was a slam dunk so didn't bother to show up. Trump got his votes out.
