A wasted youth is better by far than a wise and productive old age. Do you agree?

These lyrics always make me think.. I suppose because I am old and I have led a wise and productive AND wasted old age :P  But I wonder about it..

    Hi.

I know the worst insult you can give someone you hardly know is to insult their musical choices.  I hate Meatloaf and I hope you don't feel umbrage towards me.  He makes me vomit.

He was on the apprentice kissing Trump's ass the entire time.  I wanted to just vomit.

So, anything this turd sandwich puts out is vomitus to me.

LOL I am not in the least offended :) I really don't dictate to people over who they like musically - I have a very, very wide taste so it's truly not like I idolise or am a big fan... I like him yea but I like lots of people .. so it's truly fine and you are welcome to speak freely with me :)

I had no idea he had anything to do with Trump - hmm now it's me who wants to vomit :P

But that aside... it was more the sentiment... it makes me think.. when our friend (Teee just being wicked there) Meat wrote this.. he can hardly have been all that young himself.. soo.... did he really think that? does anyone?  This post was edited by Adaydreambeliever at May 18, 2017 11:43 AM MDT

I'll give you a little history.   I am 66 and I used to (in my very wasted youth) go to the Aragon Ballroom that was around the block from my boyfriend's house at the time.  We went every Friday and Saturday and saw everyone live from the first row.

I mean GOOD people that you would die to see.

I also saw Meatloaf.  He always fronted for the bigger bands and I just could not wait until he finished so I could see Traffic or The Rolling Stones or Led Zepplin.

So, I never liked him.  He was annoying and in the way and I never liked anything he sang.

But, you are always someone that I know is open-minded so that is why I shared my loathing of the Loaf.

I promise you if you look up on youtube or whatever you get that shows back history of The Apprentice and Meatloaf's embarrassing tirades on behalf of The Donald, you will also become a non-fan.

    UGH

  • I don't think I could agree with that. Though I'm 25 now and I'm beginning to wonder if I've spent my youth as productively as I could. I have some regrets, but overall I think it's gone very well. :)

    I would disagree.

I can only hope that by living each day of my journey I would get a bit wiser (and "productive-er") along the way. If a wiser old age is not a goal, then what's the point? According to Meatloaf's lyrics, a wasted youth. If so, I'm a goner.
    :)
