Greg Gianforte (R, Montana) charged with assault. Will he likely be elected anyway?

Bodyslammed a reporter for asking an uncomfortable question. Then again, Jesse Ventura got elected in Minnesota and he made a living out of bodyslamming EVERYBODY.

  • While I have no doubt reporters can be extremely frustrating, the audio clip does not support the story that he was "asked to leave twice" and then tackled after he refused to comply. But seeing as how the American public has been turned against the media since the election of Trump, he'll probably be hailed as a hero for what he did.

Americans are obsessed with the first amendment, but sometimes they ignore the part about freedom of the press.  This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at May 25, 2017 2:29 PM MDT

In your book, nobody who commits the unpardonable sin of being a Republican should ever be elected to any office, should they?

  • I'm not sure what the point of this comment is. There are many Republicans who act like all Democrats are the devil. So what?

Rubio would have been a decent President. Jeb might have been had he not been a Bush, the electorate won't risk another one. Even McCain might have been okay, except that he had a brain-dead cretin as a running mate - the strain of the job might have killed him and Palin is even stupider than Trump. The last good President before Obama who was also a decent human being was also a Republican - Dwight D Eisenhower.
It's the GOP's shift to the lunatic Right that bothers me, Ike wouldn't have been nominated today - too "liberal". So is everybody to the left of Mussolini. This post was edited by Slartibartfast at May 25, 2017 10:11 AM MDT

I think if he is elected, it will be because of early voting and the number of people who have already voted and are not able to change their vote.

I read the story about this on the BBC. From that, if I'm remembering correctly, it was a reporter from Fox News who disagreed with conservative Gianforte's version of the event -- she was an eyewitness to it all.

He'll get away with it, though. Like Nevan B mentioned, he'll probably be hailed a hero, too. This post was edited by WelbyQuentin at May 25, 2017 6:50 PM MDT
