There is NO one on earth that is not addicted to something.   Unless they are self-realized and have reached God status.

We are all attached to something that we feel a knee-jerk response to.  It doesn't have to be cigarettes.  It could be obsessive/compulsive.  It could be desiring to say a prayer every morning at a certain time.  It could be food, or exercise.   But, mark my words, everyone has something they feel they must have.

Yes it does make her life miserable but she is cute and sweet; I like the lady so I help make sure she and her cat eat well .

Yes -me. I was addicted to prescription painkillers for years. Clean now, the op took care of most of the pain. A little arthritis, I can live with that.

I still can't face the day without coffee. Or my better half, so you could say I'm addicted to her as well.

I've known alcoholics and recovering drug addicts.

I, myself, have an unhealthy attraction to Life Savers Wint-O-Green mints.

I know wintergreen has been used in medications forever.  I love the mints though.  I've never seen, used, or smelled wintergreen medication though.

Liniment (and associated ointments like Decorub, Deep Heat etc) uses wintergreen as the active ingredient.  Methyl salicylate. The methanol carries the salicylic acid (aspirin) subcutaneously to the affected muscles.

The chemistry of that process is a bit more complex.

I, along with thousands of others, love these mints.  There are some funny stories online about some trying to keep it a secret.  Others, admit to eating over a pound of them each day.  I'm not there, thank goodness.  But I do make sure to have a bag of them in the house and a few in my purse.

It made me laugh that my little answer caused a chemistry exchange.  I am lost in that world.  :)

I know that, but AM isn't quite the forum for university level biochemistry unless everyone involved has studied a little of it.

Salt and sugar are quite common addictions and are generally not cited.
