Discussion»Statements»Rosie's Corner» Pleasant talk. Then politics rears its ugly head and it's chaos. BAN poltical discussion it in public. Keep it at home. OK?
Politics and bringing it up today is like saying HEY I WANT TO FIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't ever.
I walked out of a swimming pool the other day because this woman told me Trump was her president. I told her I have to leave or I will vomit in the pool water.
We were in a Waiting Room for hours the other day. Unfortunately we were stuck there with Republicans who had to talk politics. AARRGGHH! There were too many of them to fight and I didn't have the energy for it. They finally left and I could breathe again. Public Political diatribes pollute the environment. Thank you for your reply Shar! :) I NEVER bring politics up unless I KNOW I'm in friendly territory. :)
Exactly! It's like nauseating stench that pollutes the environment. Keep religion and politics in the church and in the home. Period. Thank you for your reply Spunky! :)
I find it bizarre that someone who makes such massive use of a public forum to express her political views would say that.
One of the reasons why we have free speech is so people know they aren't alone.
You expect me to place a lot of importance on your comfort. I don't give a sh*t about your feelings.
You expect the whole world to zip it so you can have a pleasant environment. If you want to be away from politics how about you go and hide somewhere? How about you change your behavior instead of expecting the world to change theirs?

FWIW I don't believe any subject should be banned ever... for sure there are times when it's not politic, with a small p to mention certain subjects but politics isn't one of them..
If we cannot debate and discus something so fundamentally important on a local and global scale THEN we should worry!!
We should be mindful too that we live currently in interesting times, politically speaking... so it's natural we should talk about it..
Polite conversation is fine. Civil disagreement is fine. But personal attacks/insult? No place in polite society for them. It pollutes the air and the stench hangs on long past the heated conversation. Different strokes Addb. I do not like to be personally attacked and insulted for my thoughts. Whether they are obvious straight-on insults or ever-so-cleverly subtle digs. Not my cuppa tea. I talk to people I enjoy. I avoid those I don't. Some people purposely try to goad just to get an ugly reaction. I don't do goad! Thank you for your reply! :)
PROVIDING it is civil, polite, respectful. Some folks are incapable of that and in fact delight in being as obnoxiously insulting as they can. I'm not up for that ever. Thank you for your reply whistle and Happy Sunday! :)
I disagree in some cases. If one is calling for the death of "infidels" (or "witches"), praising the murder of journalists (or heretics), or putting forth preposterous claims, "The tsunami is god's wrath!" "911 was god's punishment!" These people do not deserve civility or respect and should be verbally, resoundingly slapped down.
