    i. The remainder of my life. There has got to be a very good reason to find it necessary to build a colony on another planet. Obviously earth must be in danger and we are all going to perish. RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!!!!!!

    L. Moot point, I wouldn't be selected. From a practocal standpoint, they'd pick breeding pairs. I had a vasectomy 23 years ago, I don't qualify.

    (practical)

    Thanks, mate.

You're assigning an extremely limiting and  restrictive set of criteria assuming facts not introduced into evidence. You may have skills, knowledge and/or abilities that would benefit the project in ways beyond potential procreation.

Besides, the point of the question is whether or not you'd be willing to live off of this planet, and if so, for how long.

    Typo, I don't employ a proofreader :-(

I'd only leave if my whole family came with me. They're my whole world, life wouldn't be worth living without them.

I beg to differ Slartibartfast!  Having a vasectomy 23 years ago proves incredible intelligence and logic.  We have a huge problem with overpopulation on Earth and for whatever reason you chose to have one, you weren't contributing to an out-of-control problem that could be solved.  To add to that wise move, I'm assuming you've still enjoyed practicing the art of baby making so you could be a great teacher.  Instead of just knowing the mechanics and how the two bodies work, you would be very helpful in perhaps sharing some of the tenderness of the act. And finally, you know the very important rule of space travel.  Always have your own towel.  You would be one of my top ten picks!!!

We decided that since we had one of each, it was time to quit. If there were any other kind we'd have tried for one of those too. Condoms aren't terribly reliable, that's how we became parents in the first place (both of us wanted kids but not that early).

I probably wouldn't be selected because of my club foot and third nipple.

Eccentrica Gallumbits made an entire career in space out of having a third nipple ...

So you're saying you only have three of them?  The selection committee would still take you.

And how exactly does the committee determine a nipple cutoff point?

They've given me exclusive rights as a one-on-one examiner. I've penciled you in for 10:30 am next Thursday. Bring your credit card.
