I'd like to win the lottery so that I can give up work... Some people say they would still work even if they won.. would you? Why?

Some people love their jobs.. mine has many good points, (and bad ones lol tonight I am beyond tired!) and I get that money doesn't necessarily buy happiness... and for others they would be lost without the routine and something to do...

Me - I give 100% at work but I'd give it up in a heartbeat.. I am someone who can always find things to do.. I'd never be bored :)

No I would NOT!! I'm tired of working. I would eat like a pig and drink like a fish.  Looking good isn't an issue when you have money.

Made me laugh... that's the spirit :)  I would probably eat better.. but I like to think I would excercise more too.. not because I have to, or to look good but just because I would have time and hopefully energy if I weren't always so drained from work.

That's why I'm here. To make people laugh, no matter what I say or how outrageous. Keep that in mind :)  But there's always a ring of truth. That's what's funny. This post was edited by RogueLoner at July 12, 2017 4:09 PM MDT

If we members can laugh at ourselves, then we will laugh. If not, them I'm just another "mean spirited" a-hole. This post was edited by RogueLoner at July 12, 2017 4:50 PM MDT

  • I retired early and then started a new career, but I'm divorced now.
It's safe to go home. So my answer would be "no."

I like your answer.  Many people, I believe, could have the same one.   I retired early too.  I'm good at it.

    Not even as a joke.

I would do what I do for free, but only when I was feeling in the mood.  No punching a clock.

I wouldn't work the job I have now, but I think I'd try my hand at a few other professions. After taking off for a year or two to travel, of course.

I am approaching retirement age now, I don't mind my job so much, but would like to 'goof off' more.

I would probably continue to work so I can get even more money. It also gets pretty boring for me to not work, I'd probably go nutso if I didn't have work to keep me distracted.

I would work for anything and everything that interests me and make me better, and the world better in the long run. Since now the debts can be paid off, as with rent etc with no issue.

In other words I can be a better more productive person for society in the long-term if money is not a hindrance.

Are you sure the things you'd find to do wouldn't become your new vocation?  A lot of people are naturally curious and industrious.  What's your hobby?  Would becoming really good at it require a lot of work?
