An open pledge to a gracious friend on here and to all who read these words: a 30-day moratorium on tilde-related posts.


As of today, I will not initiate any of my silly, annoying, irritating tilde-related posts on AnswerMug. I recognize that not everyone likes them, and to respect that viewpoint, I will refrain from them for the next month.  I would much rather do without them than to jeopardize my years-long friendship that I have had with the member who has spoken out against them.  She made the first move in calling a cease-fire on a spat that has spanned several days (at least), and to honor her character-driven move, I offer this as my token of cessation of hostilities.
