    I believe there is known to be some truth in the idea that while we can all get sick. those who laugh readily and are optimistic do tend to heal better, experience less pain and cope better with illness.. SO I'd say it's never a bad idea to be someone who sees the bright side of life

  • The idea is expressly not true.  A while ago I had a friend who had heart surgery.  I visited after the surgery and he looked terrible! I laughed at him heartily! It did not make him better.
