Have you ever gone camping?

I used to go camping a lot with my brother and his friends, but we weren't really there for the peace and quiet.
We got evicted from most campsites for being too loud or for
driving on the beach or setting off fireworks etc.
We would walk from campsite to campsite after a few drinks making friends with strangers from who knows where, LoL!
We would sing songs by the fire and change the words to make them dirty and drive on the walking trails at night.
Anyway, we were younger and a little wild.
Sadly my brother passed away, but I had a lot of good times with him waterskiing and camping.
Do you ever camp?

I love camping.  Every year my husband and I put the horses in the trailer and go on a horseback riding and camping trip.

My brother passed away also but he was friends with my then future husband and they met each other on EP so that's how I met my husband.  Two years before my husband and I were married I went on a camping trip with my future husband and my brother and the thing I remember most was around the campfire my future hubby did an impression of someone and my brother was up laughing about it all night and he kept everybody else awake with his laughing.  My brother was still laughing about it when the sun came up the next morning.

Used to, many times my brothers, father and myself would camp by Currumbene Creek by night and spend the day fishing in Jervis Bay. I did a lot of songwriting in that boat, letting my eyes go out of focus and my mind drift with the boat. Getting a bite was actually a nuisance sometimes.

  • Reminds me of when my dad would get up super early and take me fishing.
I was out in the boat all day just watching the water, it was relaxing.
    Thanks for sharing. : )

If I laid down in that, I couldn't get back up. You'd have to roll me up in it and toss me into the lake.

Lol...it was certainly close quarters, maybe they call it a "pup" tent because you have to get down on your hands and knees to crawl into the damn thing? This post was edited by Bozette at July 30, 2017 7:02 AM MDT

Yes.  I enjoyed going with a few friends to places where the fishing was good and we could go swimming and kayaking.

  • Oh no, LoL!
Tents can be a rough experience especially if it rains or you need to pee early in the morning and the ground's wet and your air mattress goes flat overnight and your drunk.
Don't give up on camping just yet rent an RV next time. : )

I absolutely love RVs - it's one of the many things I admire about America - your long open roads and your RVs certainly come near the top of the list.

Once I camped on a beach in Mexico during spring break we we kept up much of the nights by party noise, including fire works.  At a little after dawn some fellow raced his unmuffled dirt bike up and down the beach in front of us.  Then I wished I had a 30-06 with a scope.
