Lol.... that's true. Figured I'd hit that, then go up to Santa Fe and Taos. I love to drive. Did 10 days in Arizona and 7 in California driving the PCH from LA to SF. Also did Vancouver up into the Canadian Rockies.

Wow, the things you must have seen out there. Such a beautiful country!

  • I don't always get to stop and smell the roses, but I do get to see them. :)

I thought of that but couldn't imagine.  I mean, what else do we drive over? ;)

It's just a way they distinguish local vs long haul truckers.

It's a beautiful sight from the ground.  I, however, like my feet firmly placed on the Earth.

Probably where my feet will stay. Think I'm too chicken to go up, up and away.

I would love to spend some time up north, both in the upper LP and the UP of Michigan.  It's been way too long.

Mackinac Island is one of my all-time favorite places.   :-)

I've lived in Michigan all my life...and never been to Mackinac Island.  I prefer the woods, the river, or the lake to the tourist sites.  :)

I get that but you really should go at least once. I've done a lot of traveling, both on and off the beaten path, and there's really something quite magical about it. Maybe it's just the romantic in me. I did so love "Somewhere in Time." This post was edited by LyricalOne at August 2, 2017 8:34 PM MDT

I was going to go once when I had to be in St. Ignace for the weekend.  I had my step-daughter with me, and for whatever reason (I cannot recall why) we did not go.  I've really never had the opportunity since.

My daughter lived there for about six years.  I loved going up there to visit.

Hmm good question.. I have just renewed my passport so could go anywhere..  I have no strong feeling at the moment as to where I want to go... I'd like to do Paris, and Canada has always been on my wish list.. Would love hong kong... Japan would be cool...I love Italy and that's where I've been most...

But I think I am thinking more of somewhere like Prague, or Budapest, or somewhere else eastern European
