What makes you cry?

Films mostly... happy ones, sad one, sentimental ones and even funny ones now and then.. I think, for me, I am just about able to contain emotion in real life, most of the time - so perhaps this is a release mechanism for me? It's just a guess but other than that I really can't explain why so many films, even action films - make me cry.

I boo hoo to films myself. Its quite embarrassing at times really, because i really let it rip when i cry at the movies. Its worse then talking on the phone. THanks Adaydreambeliever.

Cutting onions, certain songs, the loss of a loved one, excruciating pain, occasionally the Presence of God (tears of joy).

Hi~  For all you crying onion cutters and choppers, a quick FYI... I read in a cookbook (I can't remember which one but probably the Joy of Cooking) if you chew gum while chopping onions, you will be much less likely to cry.  Next time, perhaps, give it a try :)

What makes me cry?  Everything about AT&T.  The commercials. My bill. Etc.

HAHAHAH my electric bill makes me weep, in the summer its never less than a thousand bucks, two air conditioners running. Water running while chopping onions works too, but gum sounds more fun. THanks Merlin, love carbonproduct. ;)

Use a razor sharp knife to cut/ dice onions and you'll never cry again.......beware though that the price of such quality knives might bring tears to your eyes ....:(

Or your fingers as you are crying from the price of the knives while attempting to dice your onions... Soon you'll be crying over the pain of your doctor bill for having to sew your finger back together.
It's a tearful circle of saga just to have that bittersweet taste of an onion!!

onions never effect me when I chop them.....my knives are so sharp that they cut into them with no effert and the onion juices doesn't get to spray anywhere ......the worst bit is trying to get the outer paper skin of first........for some reason even though it's so thin it resists cutting and as it's also so dry it becomes like onion armour.....:(

Now, THAT is a great lesson in "Do as I say and not as I do" story!!!!  What a frightening moment to have!!!!  I work with knives almost every day and now I'm going to be extra careful.  Man, what a nightmare.  I'm glad you're o.k. in the sense you didn't bleed to death and got to the doctor.  I'm sorry about your thumb but very glad about your sense of humor.  You're awesome :)  Love, Merlin

Your awesome as well. I laugh to keep from crying, its alot more fun and keeps your spiritual vibrations functioning at the high healthy level they are meant to exsist in to keep the intestinal parasites away. Thats what my son says anyway. He listens to alot of conspiracy radio, he is a Fleet Owner, spends alot of time in his truck listening to this kind of stuff. He is waiting to see if Planet X is coming this November before he thinks about buying another truck for his company.  This makes me want to cry. WEEP???  OH My!! Why stop there?!  I would be a sobbing, weeping, puddle of salt water with the AT&T bill floating on top of me, UNPAID!!
How do they get away with that?  For them to charge one person/family/dwelling so much should be a crime.  Talk about a Monopoly on the market. I don't care if you live in the hugest castle of all the United States, they should not be allowed to put such a price tag on a necessity. What a mess!  I am sorry.
I do like your idea about cutting them under water.  It actually sounds like it would work. Does it have to be running water because if it were really hot and you were BBQing, you could cut them in the pool!  Big smiles!  Love, Merlin :) This post was edited by Merlin at August 4, 2017 8:11 AM MDT

Yes, our house is fourty five hundred square feet so we have a hard time keeping it cool in the summer. Its hot here in the South East and we dont even use both air conditioners and still the bill is a thousand dollars! Next year we are going to buy a window unit or two and just cool off one or two rooms, there are only three people who live in our house. We dont need all of this room, but the house is paid for and on excellent private dead end property so why move. You have a pool Merlin? Maybe we can come cool off at your house. Ill bring the potato salad and Southern Iced Tea. You bring You. Wouldnt that be fun? lol

I'm sure all the rooms are filled with love and that is what is important.  That is a lot of room to cool down.  Being at the end of a dirt road is like my parents.  They do too!!  It's great.
I have access to a pool about 492 steps.. not that I've counted in anticipation or anything walking there...giggles.  I wish I had a private pool.  Yes.  That would be a blast!!  You can bring anyone and anything you would like and we can have a bbq at the pool. It would be a blast!!  I"m off to work again.  I have to be there by 11.  You're my last post. But, I"ll talk to you soon, hopefully tonight.  Have a great day carbon! Love, Merlin
