    Yes. My son bought some glasses for the occasion.  We will see a 97 percent eclipse from Atlanta and will be prepared with infrared glasses.     Not directly. We will see abut 90% and everything will darken. I'm going to watch how it affects the wildlife and my cat.

    We have in our neighborhood many species of birds whose habits I am familiar with. Squirrels and rabbits. We have possums and raccoons which would be interesting to see if they show their faces. Lots of various insects. It will be interesting to see if fireflies appear. Our cat likes to prowl during the night. Let's see if she gets antsy.

  • I'll see whatever piece of the eclipse we get here in California, but I'm going to travel anywhere to see the full one, as cool as that would be.

    No, I don't believe you can see it from where I am.. but a colleague is over there and has planned her journey so she, and her kids can see it.. I've mentioned this a few times.. lol anyone would think I am envious :P

    It's on a day I have off work so I could take a drive to see the total eclipse.  It's 90% where I live but the closest place to me where it's a total eclipse is Grand Island NE which is about 330 miles away. This post was edited by Livvie at August 16, 2017 8:15 AM MDT
