Do you think every Jewish member of the Trump administration should resign in protest?

Some folks believe that if you're a Jew and your boss says nice things about people who marched in the street chanting anti-Semitic and Nazi-era slogans, you have to resign in protest.

U.S. National Economic Director Gary Cohn, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, and Veterans Affairs Secretary David Shulkin have said nothing, at least in public. So it has fallen to non-Jews to tell President Trump — like the members of his now-disbanded manufacturing council — that he's wrong about the "good" Nazis.

Well, yes, but that is because I think EVERYONE should resign.

Forget about impeaching the jerk, just walk out of your jobs one and ALL.

Let him be king of the empty castle.

THAT WOULD CHANGE THE WORLD.  THAT WOULD.

    WOW.  I'm dreaming of that.

They can take that naked statue of Trump that My 2 Cents won't let me post on here (because it's not a naked Obama) and they could erect that statue in front of the White House with a CROWN, just like Jimmy Kimmel offered. Make him KING like Queen Elizabeth.  King of nothing.

Let him just posture and pose and take photo ops and Tweet all day and night.

am thinking that if they all resign
Frump would just replace them with White nationalists
    which would make things worse.
    They should censure the President
and stand up with their voice and actions.
But I also like Shars post that everyone
should resign...LOL This post was edited by Baba at August 17, 2017 12:56 PM MDT

As a Jew, I would like to see that happen, but I'm also practical enough to realize that it will not likely happen.

Hmm not sure... seems like we don't know enough on this one.. we have no way of telling whether jewish people have complained to Trump, told him he was wrong to be *nice* about people chanting anti-semitic things. I'd think that would suffice.. if I were someone of the Jewish faith who had been offended by what he said, (and I am not Jewish and I don't actually know what was said) it would be enough for me to register my protest - I wouldn't necessarily feel the need to resign.. However, on that front - I'd be very unlikely to even be working for Trump, given that I think he is an imbecile and revolting..so perhaps the question is academic?

I would add.. that actually I don't see a problem with non-jewish people complaining either.. if he said nice things about people who chanted anti-semitic things then that would offend me as a non-Jew, just as it would offend me if he said racist things.. One doesn't have to be of a certain  colour or religion to know when someone else is speaking hateful things - yes? I'd complain about that to Trump.. tell him what I thought of him.

He basically said that some Nazis are nice people. Very uncool. There is nothing nice about Nazis, especially those who march, scream anti-Semitic epithets, and kill people. There's nothing academic about it.

Agreed and it's only academic because I would never be employed by Trump in the first place. - that's all I meant.

No, I don't think that he said what you imply. If you believe so please provide evidence.

But some members of that particular political party (the National German Socialist Workers Party, which is what the Nazis were, ans still are) may well be nice people. (Wasn't EVERY German a member of that party during the late 1930's and the first 1/2 of the 1940's; think it was required by German law. What's really "uncool" is for someone with a really bigoted attitude to paint everyone with a broad brush.

Not painting everyone with a broad brush - just a bunch of vile, white supremacist, Nazi-loving scum.

Jimmy Kimmel said it well when he expressed that no nice person would be in a crowd of insessant chanting of JEWS GET OUT and LEAVE MY COUNTRY over and over.

No nice person would be in that crowd.  They would bolt.

So, whatever needed to be covered from the left would be shouts of NAZI PIG.  (boo hoo)

No, Trump said some people were there protesting (the statue removal) and were not Nazis.  He condemned the Nazis, the KKK  etc. This post was edited by my2cents at August 17, 2017 1:37 PM MDT

So one clown out of the entire crowd may (probably) be making a Nazi salute. And NO indication as to where the photo was taken. (I see nothing in the photo that ties the location to C-ville.) It could have been taken somewhere in Germany (apparently the Nazis are still active there even though they've been outlawed.)

If you contort and bend over far enough backward, I suppose you can convince yourself of, rationalize, or deny anything.

These were just a few photos shot during the riots, and from the background, clearly in Charlottesville.

Stu the Usual Suspects on here will NOT stop.  They cannot cognate.   They cannot put together that what you are posting has anything to do with the truth because they don't care about the truth they think arguing back and saying YOU ARE DOING IT is a valid argument.  Because they said so.   Salt and Pepper thinks he is being really clever when he asks a stupid irrelevant question to try and throw you off.   Like that is not transparent as hell.

But that is what Trumpian Zietgeist and he does all the time.  Sigh.

Media courage of Trump's statements on this has been a disgrace. They have shamelessly misrepresented his statements.

I don't know whether you're deliberately party to repeating these lies, or whether you just believed fake news.

Trump's comments on the matter were PERFECT in every way. Too perfect in fact. His mistake was being too sophisticated in his statements. He overestimated the IQ of the average person and the honesty of the media. This post was edited by Zeitgeist at August 17, 2017 12:16 PM MDT

Sorry, but this news is not fake. It ACTUALLY HAPPENED in Charlottesville. Even your friend Steve Bannon called the far-right elements of the Republican party “a collection of clowns.” He said, "Ethno-nationalism – it’s losers. It’s a fringe element. I think the media plays it up too much, and we gotta help crush it, you know, uh, help crush it more."

Furthermore, prominent Republicans such as Lindsey Graham, Jeff Flake, Mitch McConnell, and both former Presidents Bush had plenty to say against Trump's statement.

Former Presidents George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush issued a joint statement that said, in part, “America must always reject racial bigotry, anti-Semitism and hatred in all forms.”

I suggest you read the entire RCP (realclearpolitics.com, not some "lefty" outlet) piece here - https://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2017/08/17/trump_isolation_grows_as_ceos_republicans_pull_away.html

There is absolutely no place in a civilized society for what these people did in Charlottesville. No sir, you have no leg to stand on in defending them.

Trump did not make any positive statements about those perpetrating the events in Charlottesville and neither did I. He was completely clear in his condemnation of it.

The establishment republicans are scum and what they say means nothing. They hate Trump and trying to use this fake news as an excuse to stick the knife in.

Like h*ll he didn't! He said, “You also had some very fine people on both sides.” That's a direct quote.

BS. “Very fine people” don't march through the streets chanting "Sieg Heil!" and "Blood and Soil!" and intentionally running over others with a car.

And that's all there is to it. It's REAL NEWS - plain, simple, end of story. This post was edited by Stu Spelling Bee at August 17, 2017 12:36 PM MDT

He meant that not every right winger there was neo nazi scum and not every left winger there was antifa scum. If you had actually listened to the whole speech instead of taking single sentences out of context, you'd see things clearly.

There was a wide spectrum of opinion present. Just because someone thinks that a statue of a confederate historical figure shouldn't be taken down, doesn't make them a neo nazi.

I hate nazis and I hate communists but I don't assault them in the street. The U.S. is a nation of laws and people have no right to take the law into their own hands just because they feel righteous in their views. This post was edited by Zeitgeist at August 17, 2017 1:34 PM MDT
