My mom worked at a drive through and my dad met her there when he was ordering food I guess? I think he was dating her friend at the time? I'm not sure about that one, I'll have to ask her about it. : )
My parents met in grad school. Specifically they met a dinner party through a mutual friend. My mom always talks about how she almost didn't go to that dinner, so if she hadn't, maybe she never would've met my dad and there'd be no Nevan :( But some things are meant to happen. :)
I don't know how she met my biological father; I think he was just some guy on the make who "wanted some". Once he got it, he was in the wind.
As for the man who would eventually become my stepfather, I believe they met at the E-Club (Enlisted Club) of the local Air Force Base. They married when I was four and divorced when I was fourteen.
(My own children know the story of how my wife and I met, and I'm happy to report that it's a much, MUCH more positive story than that of my parents.)
There was a very famous tennis player and golfer named Althea Gibson, who was friends with my mother, and who was my father's client. She purposefully invited them both to a party she threw. She introduced them, and created a match made in hell. lol. Althea Gibson was a remarkable athlete and woman. She broke racial barriers. Too bad she was a terrible matchmaker.
Papa lived down the street. When he came back from WW2, he was looking for some nooky. He musta said "my of my, how that little girl has grown! " So he married moma and a few years later, BAM! Along comes my older sister.
My parents met in high school. Divorced when I was in grade school. Dad remarried shortly afterwards...he and my stepmom met at the bowling alley. My Mom has remarried and divorced several times...I have never considered her husbands as a parent. I don't know how she met 2 of them. One was her Dr.
Im not sure if this is true because im not sure how reliable my mother was. She told me that she met my father (who died when i was two) met in San Francisco on Hate and Ashberry St. in a Beet Nick joint. He played the Saxophone and she was a customer at the bar. They met after his gig.
Was during the 'dirty thirties' on the Canadian prairies and water was so restricted that by law you had to find at least one partner(s) to shower with. That is how they met.
