If your parents were given the opportunity to choose their child and the ability to see into the future, would they have chosen you?

Really nice to be able to say that.  Thanks Nevan!

Only if it was identical twins;  one of me would not have been enough.

Well my mother probably who have chosen to keep me since I stayed for her now that she's old and decrepit. My dad, however, isn't so fond of women so I'm not sure. Maybe since I'm more boyish I can pass, but he apparently wasn't as happy to have a girl as he was to have my brothers.

I believe so.  My mother is proud of me.  She was the first in her family to finish high school.

I have no idea about the other parent.

My mother did not plan (or plan for) even one of the 6 pregnancies she has had, the first of which began when she was the ripe old age of 17.  Back in those days, unmarried girls were kicked out of high school if they got pregnant, and that's exactly what happened to her.  Given both the chance to choose and the ability to see the future, she very well might select me, but in her sheer arrogance at her supposed parenting "skills" and supposed parenting "successes", she might also select all 6 of us, my siblings and myself.

As for the sperm donors who fertilized her (there are at least 4 of them, maybe 6), only one of whom had the benefit of legal marriage to her at consummation, provided choice and clairvoyance, I believe they would be even less interested in children than they showed themselves to be in the reality version.

    I was their BANE.

I put them through hell.  They could not understand me at all.  Ever.  They wanted a nice, obedient daughter who gave them no grief and had not one original thought in her head.

No, see back in the 50s it was taboo to be born out of wedlock. I was also told that by my mother that she wanted a boy and never wanted me. She was highly disappointed for giving birth to a girl. Whatever!!

    Sad, sorry.
(Psalm 27:10) Even if my own father and mother abandon me, Jehovah himself will take me in.

Awww, thankyou my brother!!! and he did. I learned the truth as a child, and Jehovah has been with me since, even before. The congregation has also been a source of comfort always.

Well thank you for the sentimental comment, it means a lot to me. I do care about my mom. She has suffered from mental illness for most of her life. I feel for her. :)

I do too, but I feel your pain because of her pain.  I've been there and it is a hard pain to just shrug off and yet it must be released or we will get weaker and weaker from it somehow.

I wish you healing.  I am on that same path, you see.

It's a hat that is knit and was part of a silly hat question the other day.

I think it would be great in cold weather.  Or if you are a bank robber.

My parents are the type that probably should not have kids or each other. They are greedy at a primal animal level and made us anyway. They are unfit as parents.

I wish I was never born, or aborted.
