Certainly many creative people are intelligent but that would not be a prerequisite.  And many highly intelligent people are not at all creative or inventive.  No I would say there is no correlation.

I think there is a correlation officegirl though I cannot cite specific proof. It is just "in my gut". I think it takes a special kind of intelligence to be imaginative/creative/inventive. I think inventors as a group are intelligent don't you? The difference between imagination/inventiveness and creativity cannot large at all. It must be infinitely small. How can you invent anything without being creative or imaginative? So we disagree. No biggy. Thank you for your reply! :)

I had this girlfriend back in the 70's. She got all A's in school and became a computer whiz for an area bank, but she really didn't have much 'common sense'. Hey, she dated me!

She saw something in you that she valued bh. Maybe that is how genius and the rest of us balance out. Maybe common sense is what carries us through life when we aren't geniuses. I expect if you're a genius you already live in your own little world anyway. I know a few genius-type folks and they all have lotsa common sense. Go figger! Thank you for your reply!  :)

    Good question.

All three certainly contribute to a rich and quite satisfying intellectual life.
