Most anytime you see an advertisment saying "millions of players", that means there are about a thousand players who are actually playing the game. The rest of the 'millions' are people who have registered as players, but got bored with it after a few weeks and have not logged in since.
There was a game "Business Tycoon"(not the Sid Meier one) that actually specialized in that. The started server after server with the same game (the game was all about choices so lots of people wanted to restart leaving their bad choices behind on their 'current' server), That quickly became hundreds of servers with 'millions of players' on each one, we theorized they were deliberately 'building a bubble' hoping to sell the game to somebody for a lot of money based on how 'popular' it was.
Current games in the Ghost city category: Pardus (an Elite lookalike), The West (from Inno), The LoA family of games, Eve, Anything from plarium.com (actually the only have one game engine but they dress it up in different graphics, and market it as many different games9.
People were in the breakroom looking forward to playing Uno. I just do not do games. I don't speak games and I have a hatred for games. I suck. I know.
Games are for people who have the luxury of being idle and stress-free. So it isn't so much the game that bugs me but my circumstances which prevent me from enjoying the simplest of things sometimes.

No ... actually the board is just to keep score on, instead of a pencil and paper I suppose. Cribbage is a card game, but not like any other card game that I could compare it to. Often two handed ... sometimes three. That's what the third row of peg holes are for ... 3rd player.
