It was 1976 when I was walking through the city library and I saw this record jacket, a guitar with a hub cap where the sound hole belonged. I had never heard of a dobro, so I checked it out to see what it sounded like. I bought a copy right away. Mike Auldridge is considered a legend, right up there with Chet Atkins. Except that Mike spent a lot of effort teaching and transcribing instead of only playing.
The song has been rather cathartic for me at times, even. Collins delivers the song perfectly to his lyrics. He sounds really mad and he's at a point in which he truly does not care. :)
I am slow-on-the-uptake when people are kidding, when communication is all in writing. Sorry. :)
