Absolutely!! It makes perfect sense to assume the people you desire to be around have similar or qualities you have and/or would like to have. It goes with the old saying, "Birds of a feather flock together :)"
In most cases I think yes. But you would need to know the rest of the story in order to avoid making false assumptions - and human nature would make the whole story a very elusive animal indeed.

I'm not so sure: Eva Braun consorted with Adolf Hitler, both died decades before I was born. I witnessed nothing of her life, yet I can draw conclusions about her character based on her choice to associate with him. One man's example. ~

Perhaps but I don't think you can read their character just by their company. And if people are going to judge you they will for all kinds of reasons and not just by your company. People will generally gravitate to others they feel more comfortable with or with like interests. We know mostly business, banking, and professional people, some people interested and the arts, along with a smattering of swingers and conservatives (in a very liberal town).
