What is the purpose of body hair?

    Believe it or not, they help us trap heat and protect vital places on our bodies.  On average, a person has about 5,000,000 individual hairs.  This goes to prove we aren't actually naked apes.  Compared to other apes, we might look like it, but not really!  Big smiles.

    Try this experiment out;

    1- Grow your beard out in the winter
    2 - Go outside 
    3 - Go back inside and shave
    4- Go back outside again
    5- Log back in to AM to confirm the difference

    I read that body hair is there to trap pheromones that release a scent to arrouse the opposite sex.
    They were probably referring more to the pubic area than someone's underarms.
    I'm not sure why we have that hair.
    Maybe if we didn't wear shirts we wouldn't sweat or smell as much?

    I saw a thing on TV that sweat from some people also acts as an attractant.  Here smell this (lifts arm).  How does that make you feel?

    Pheromones can be attractive, but excessive body odor from armpits can be unattractive if people don't shower regularly.
