I have parakeets.  They don't want me to touch them.

I keep them warm by turning on the heat.

They take care of the rest.

I made the grand mistake of not bonding with them as babies.  I bought them at a Pet Smart, two at a time and they bonded with one another.  But I love them all and they do like me, they are just not used to being on me.  I miss that.

    So cute though.

It's never too late to bond with them but it IS a bit more difficult when  multiple birds are in the same cage.  That's why I never housed my parrots together.

Not a lot, but she sometimes comes and sits on my shoulder in bed.

If it's really really cold, she comes into the bed between my wife and me and I give her a cuddle.

All three dogs sleep with me. They never get cold and neither do I.

It is, but it sure is difficult getting out of bed to go to the bathroom.  They're all so comfortable, they don't want to budge.

    LOL, I can see that.
My Lulu is little so she is easy to move and not usually in my way when I need to get up.
But I have had big dogs that did the same thing your dogs do.

It's like crawling out of a landmine sometimes because they're so comfy and tend to growl when disturbed. Lol

My cats are quite independent. They never would get friendly, wouldn't even suckle their own babies. I bottle fed the babies and even those wouldn't get friendly. They still come around occasionally, but they don't want to get chummy. They seem to be doing well enough, so I leave them to their own choices.

Of course ya gotta remember that in the desert, "cold winter night" only means fifty degrees or so, and any place not exposed to the north sky is fairly pleasant. This post was edited by Not Sure at February 25, 2018 9:54 PM MST
