When you have been wronged, do you ever seek revenge?

I don't.  I feel the most empowered when I have some sense of forgiveness; even if it means I choose to not have contact with someone again.  How about you?

Yes I do depending on who it is and what they have done.
And it might not even be for me. It might be for a family member or a friend that I will seek revenge for.

I do have a strong sense of outrage when I have a loved one gets hurt, even more than for myself.  I may not seek revenge, but I am not beyond confronting someone doing the wrong.

There have been a few times I've taken revenge in the past. If they have wronged me NOW I wait until they get their just rewards ALL on their own.

Sometimes a little payback just feels good.

True, but that good feeling comes from knowing that you have done the right thing as a response to the original provocation.

That feeling is not a guilty pleasure.

I have had the pleasure of shutting someone right down that thought they deserved another chance to be a jerk.  It's call self preservation and I no longer feel guilty for wanting it and keeping it.

I much prefer that scenario; where circumstances play out and someone gets a good taste of what they dish out.

One of the hardest things to do is have patience for it.  It usually happens.

I don't take revenge.   Vengeance is 'HIS'...

“Always forgive, but never forget, else you will be a prisoner of your own hatred and doomed to repeat your mistakes forever.”― Wil Zeus

In taking revenge, a man is but even with his enemy; but in passing it over, he is superior.—Francis Bacon

    Love that GIF...really funny...
    so,
    I don't take revenge
even though I am Very tempted
in this case. A mechanic installed
a so called rebuilt engine in my truck.
    It started falling apart immediately.
I went to him and He refused to be responsible
and I ended up getting another engine
    from  someone else.
$3,000 it cost me and he refused to be responsible...
Said he couldn't deal with it because it was too stressful.
So I had to put up another $3,000 (that I didn't have) dollars to get another engine.
Sent him letters threatening to take him to small claims court
Gave him a deal, even with monthly payments...He refused.
You don't know how many times I have thought
about putting nails under his tires...but haven't.
whenever I see him and he looks my way
I flip him off with the finger...
Don't have time for the small claims court
sure, with time I will be able to let this go
and move on but right now
can't pay taxes because of this
    in a hole
    and am pissed
    ok...I vented
    peace out...

One of the things I like to do to people like is bad mouth them. Go on Yelp and other sites that may be looking for a mechanic and tell them about that guy.
A bad review can really hurt.

That is not revenge.  There is nothing wrong with requiring someone to be accountable for their actions; and it is entirely appropriate to warn others of possible danger.

Absolutely!  The more details you can give, the more credible the complaint.  I really despise any contractor or service person that does this to a trusting customer.  They really DO deserve a kick in the pants by mother Karma!

That is terrible Baba and I gotta tell you, he certainly deserves to pay for what he did to you.  I do understand that sometimes we cut our losses and walk away.  But don't be shy on turning him in to the BBB and writing a few detailed bad reviews.  He will continue to do this to other customers and I do think we have some obligation to warn others.

I hope some how you do get financial resolution to this.  I know things like this have happened to me in the past and it's very upsetting.  Good luck.

Revenge, no; but some actions and thoughts should not be allowed to stand.  Such incidents should be either challenged or prevented from further occurrence.

Completely agree!  I don't always sit silent either.  There are many times where we have a duty to speak up and speak out.
