In this modern age of pharmaceuticals, that’s a choice that already exists without any gods.
Food for thought: can we be sure that suicide is painful or not? I imagine a failed attempt might be.

That said, there is still so much to look forward to, and my health is excellent, so I’m not ready to shut it down anytime soon. As a nonbeliever, some might say I’m hellbound anyway, then I might as well enjoy this ride as long as it lasts.

Methink this may explain why many die in their sleep. You are offered a choice the world left behind has no knowledge of. This post was edited by O-uknow at April 9, 2018 10:38 PM MDT

I don't believe there is a god, so I'll just take my chances and keep on truckin'.

Leaving my partner would be agonising, so I'd stay and face the unknown like everyone of us does, and I suffer chronic pain and have done for years, so could God just take away my pain but leave me here?

    I'll take my chances.

My family would miss me. They will anyway when I go, but if I was to jump ship when there's no need to, they'd resent me as well and that's something I don't want.
