Both, (Feb) I stubbornly tried to maneuver around the house without my walker. The results were a fall with a bruised left arm and a crushed ego for stupidity...
I was walking in the yard and stepped on the water meter cover. My first clue was when I realized that I was going down on my back and no stopping it. So I sat down, figuring I wouldn't have so far to fall. I rolled on my back, but I was unhurt.
What blows me away is that it was instantly clear to me what was wrong and what to do about it, but nobody I have told can picture what happened.
About two weeks ago I was sliding out of my car (I'm short and have to slide a bit til my feet hit the ground) and my right food landed on a pebble and I twisted my ankle. You know how that hurts. I fell to my knees, which also hurts because of the replacements. I just stayed right there a few minutes, shooing away helpful neighbors, until I could stand and hobble into the house. I didn't sprain it, just turned it enough to really hurt. By the next day it was almost fine even though it was a bit swollen. Yes, a little embarrassed but no big deal there. :)

It's been at least a year. I was running and tripped over a jutted-out chunk of concrete on a sidewalk. Yes, my ego was bruised, because I was with a group of fellow runners.
(The photo is not of me; I did a key-word search using "falling runner" and selected what matches me the closest, a black dude.)
