I am sick and tired of winter weather. What are you sick and tired of?
It has been snowing steadily since Friday evening; well over a foot of snow and it keeps coming. I know winters are long in Minnesota, but we can usually see bare ground by mid-April.
I commiserate with you. Even though I have lived in Southern California for decades, I was born and raised in a city in the Rocky Mountains, so I was well acquainted with wintery weather. I have no desire to ever live in such a place again at any time in my life. I don't even like it when the California weather turns to its version of cold. While not as severe as Minnesota, California's cold weather is no picnic. I always prefer warm and/or hot weather. Like you, I'm always ready for cold weather to end. I'm no longer acclimatized to the Rockies as I was my first 18 years of life, I lived in or spent time in places all throughout the Pacific after age 18, Hawaii, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, etc., so I became a little bit spoiled and I now turn my nose up to living in the cold.
Hey, wait . . . I was planning to fly in for a visit. Does this unusually long-lasting cold front mean that I'll have to wait until the weather warms up?
Er, um, who said anything about visiting you? Minnesota is a big state, I might be going there to see some of my other women. (Don't get so stuck on yourself.)
I can't afford to disappoint Rachel and Kim (above). Besides, you know I never pay attention to those silly restrai . . . hey, what's the big idea, Officer, where are you taking me?
I'm shocked! A woman of your social status, class and age, yet you can't help but throw yourself at me like some lovesick teenager? For shame, I say, for shame!
I want to comment on my impression of this photo. This woman looks completely and utterly miserable. It may be part of the act but look at her. Neither her stance nor her face shows anything but unhappiness.
A few miles west of the pic above, in California, there is Picacho Peak. This part of the country is famous for goofy looking mountains. The water is an irrigation canal.
