All of the (Ralphie's) house interior scenes of the movie "A Christmas Story" were filmed in a studio in Canada.
The house seen in the movie is used only for exterior shots/scenes. The house seen in the movie is in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. (Though, I think, the movie was set, plot-wise, in Indiana?)
The capybara is the worlds larges rodent. (Psst! Don't let Randy see this. I spelled largest wrong.)

According to a couple of sources, Alfred Hitchcock mentioned only one scene in one of his movies that he thought was a huge mistake and he would have taken the scene out if he re-did the movie.
(Ha! And wouldn't you know? I find it the most effective, suspense-filled scene in the movie.)
