Is really no such thing as that. That is only your value judgment. And you might well ask whether labeling anyone a "moron" is preventable. Do you need to disparage others?
Well there's morons and morons. And we use the word in different ways... My thinking is that only those who are fully aware and doing it deliberately can change/prevent it.. But that presupposes they want to and the tendency for those who behave in a way which might be considered moronic - is to want to behave that way.
Yeah, you just gotta encourage people to make more use of the superior part of the brain which is rational/critical thinking instead of the primitive part of the brain so much where it tends to believe imaginary stuff like gods, demons, boogie men, winning lottery jackpots, supernatural creation, etc.
For those who consciously do or say moronic things on purpose, YES, being a moron is eminently preventable, as is accompanying such a person as a moron “by association”. We might all be able to reflect on some instance in our own lives where we each may have been here.
I think we have all encountered the other breed, the Naturals, the ones who can’t not be morons due perhaps to some bad wiring or deficient upbringing. If we are not one of this group ourselves, and can identify these folks early on, we can avoid being cast into the first group.
