Are you in favor of the Cal 3 initiative and do you think it will pass?

The...Cal 3 initiative would divide the state into three parts: one called Northern California, from Oregon down to San Francisco, another called California, that would primarily include Los Angeles and land on the coast and the last one dubbed Southern California, that would be made up of San Diego, Fresno, and Bakersfield.

I think there is some merit to the idea, though I’m not a fan of this version. I don’t think it will pass as is.

I am against it.  I highly doubt it'll pass.  Even if it does there's almost nil chance of it being initiated.

It would have stood a slightly better chance had Hillary won but she didn't so the pressure is lessened to break up the Democrat's grip on the state.

Be serious. That's even sillier than the report about Texas seceding.

As a New Yorker, I don't have a dog in that race, so it makes no difference whether I'm in favor or not.  I don't think it will pass.

You do have a dog in the race and it would affect the whole country.  Imagine six Senators from California rather than two.  Congress would have to approve it if the voters out there passed it.........your legislators would want to hear from you.

Well, if the four legislators are Democrats, it's fine with me.

I'm the problem because I'm a Democrat and don't care to vote or think like you do?  I don't really care whether you think I'm a problem or not.  Save your adolescent passive-aggressive comments and your oh-so-superior attitude for someone who cares what you think about them.  They're wasted on me.

No.  You are the problem because you vote simply for the club of which the candidate is a member.  It doesn't take a brain to do that.

WRONG!  Unless you happen to have my entire voting record in front of you, don't assume you know how I vote.  See what I mean by that "superior" attitude of yours?  Yesterday you told me that I don't know 5th grade grammar and now I haven't got a brain.  Be careful, you're on the verge of getting reported for being disrespectful to another member.

Political boundaries almost always follow geographical boundaries. Arizona is not California because there is a river between them. Nevada is not California because there is a mountain range between them. California consists of the beach bums, the salad bowl, and wine country. That is what the proposed division indicates, but there are no noticeable boundaries between them.

Wyoming. I refuse to believe there is an exactly rectangular geographical boundary there.

I am not in favor. It looks like it would create 2 Dem states and 1 Rep.
It goes against Article 4 of the Constitution.  But could be allowed it approved by both state legislature and Federal Congress. If it passes CA....I will be letting my Congress people to vote NO.

California would be more likely to secede than split - and I don't think that's likely either.
