Sorry to get back on topic: slogans are meaningless. I went to a college where the admins were constantly saying something about "serving the community." Barry Goldwater came to speak there. He expressed regret that so few students attended. The auditorium was filled with townies.
It seems that his appearance was advertised in town, but not on campus. The only students who attended were on their way to a class when they noticed the gathering and stopped to listen. The admins did not consider students to be a part of the community!
