Discussion»Questions»Human Behavior» I heard a guy say that he was a polite person -- and that automatically made him a nice person, too. Do you agree/disagree?
No. You can put on a polite face and be seething with rage under the surface. Take a look at customer service memes of people laughing behind customers backs, but are sure able to be polite when they are around...
Welby, sorry, I am unable to either confirm or deny what you may or may not have heard. However, if what you claim did in fact transpire, then that guy is a braggart. Braggartry used to be frowned upon but has slithered to a prominent place in human interaction over the years, and has almost become the norm.
Yeah, he said it - - more of a "Hey, I'm polite and you can't be polite without also being nice" within the conversation of others. Not everyone agreed with him. :)
He seems polite to me but it was interesting that others in the small crowd that know him better started to disagree with him when he started talking about this. :)
