  • Your picture looks pretty unusual.  Usually cloud formations are pretty flat on the bottom because of the ground surface temperature.

    The cloud above the mountain is the same as the cloud around a jet, except one happens at the speed of sound and the other is a lot slower. The wind blows up the mountain, and a change in pressure condenses all the moisture in it.
