In a hotel in Wickliffle, Ohio a mother accidentally shoots and kills her 2-year-old daughter
Hmm makes sense though... if you think realistically, women being weaker, actually are highly unlikely, at close quarters, to be able to inflict enough of an injury, with a knife, and we are talking that it would need to be quite a big knife at that, to be able to get away.. the aim is to injure enough that you can run... and quite simply once you have made your strike, probably with a silly titchy knife, the chances are all you have done is anger the attacker and he can then, being stronger, take the knife from you and use it to threaten you.. I am not sure about stats but I do know that those who teach defence to women do say that you are better off with spray and non-weapon tactics which allow you to escape and the reason given is that a weapon can be turned against you.. I think this is about weakness, strength and the size of weapon needed to inflict enough of an injury and your chances of escaping after ONE stab before he grabs the knife and uses it against you..
while looking i did see someone who trained women in self-defence say knives were a bad move.. and I know self defence teachers here say no dont go there.. .but I am thinking this would be impossible to get stats on.. simply because women don't go around carrying weapons..
