Not ritualistic at all.  I need to be more.  I like the idea of tradition.

But, that said, I gave up a lot of coffee and switched to cold tea.  Cannot stand the hot.

It is kinder on my system.

Interesting..  I have always wanted to watch a Japanese tea ceremony, quite sexist but supposedly full of ritual. I nearly did watch one as I used to work at a Japanese school, but just missed out

No don't take it at all.  Except for the book The Art of Tea which I remember liking.

I invited a British friend to stay with me and thoughtfully laid in a supply of tea. Turned out she hated the stuff.

  • Yes, I enjoy totaling tea. I have tea most mornings.

I have been to a real tea ceremony in Japan. It was a cool way of experiencing a part of my Japanese heritage; my mom grew up in Japan but had never participated in one, even though she had always wanted to.

  • "No" ... there is some tea in my kitchen, but we've got nothing to say to each other.  :) This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at July 20, 2018 12:24 PM MDT

Nope, tea is not my cup of tea.  People have tried to get me to like it over the years with numerous tea concoctions, but I never developed a taste for it.   To me it's just (icky) flavored brown water.

Coffee's gross.  I tried it once, but to me it ranks up there with tea and beer - YUCK!

    I agree beer is nasty.
But I love good sweet tea. Not everyone knows how to make good tea. And if it is made wrong it is nasty too.

I live near Chinatown and go there to find a good quality green tea; there are so many different varieties. One time I paid  $80 for a pound of the stuff,  was too mild tasting.  Finally found one I like for $30 pound.. A big mug of tea for me in the morning.

Yes, I am serious about my tea.  I always put my lemon and/or sugar first and milk last.  But I puzzle over which to put on my scone first, jam or clotted cream.  Hmmmm. What do you think?
