At the end of the day, will a person always choose what's in his or her best interests?

What a concept.  I first read about that recently in a book.  Who knew?  Apparently a lot of people are out for #1 first.

    What a goofy question!

Yesterday I gave my youngest daughter a substantial sum of money because she doesn't have a job at the moment.  How is that in MY best interests.  I say NO.

No not necessarily and not just because of altruism.  Many people have no idea what is in their best interests nor care.  And, perhaps most often, altruism is in our best interest.

i would rather say it what best in their own comfort zone best for them but the things we think are good for us are often unhealthy choices.
