1. I absolutely refuse to have anything at all to do with other people's minor children. Either real or imaginary, the potential for getting into legal trouble because of offending the delicate sensibilities of someone's precious darling is not worth any job benefit(s) that might be offered to me.
2. I don't think I'd be any good as a corrections officer, unless grammatical corrections were involved.
Being a corrections officer is definitely not for most people. It’s a different environment and a different world. I’m good at it. A lot of people don’t have the personality for it. Others don’t have the ability to handle violence and the environment.
Randy~~~ I'm assuming you are against coddling a child when it has obviously done wrong. When a child demonstrates poor behavior, especially in public, it is a disgrace not only to the child but most definitely to the parent(s). The things kids get away with these days are incredible. The imaginary ones are the WORST. They think they can get away with everything because they are invisible. Being a juvenile lawyer is not in your cards this time around.
As far as the corrections officer. You are in a sense, already. I'm glad you admitted it. It's not a bad thing. You are all about about "The Glamour with Grammar." It is who you are. I would stand tall as the "Glamorous Grammar Guy." I'm sure it's hard to patrol the whole world of written word. I don't envy you and one I could not do. I wouldn't know what to do if you stopped. It wouldn't be the same. :) :)

Telemarketer. Been there, done that, got the T shirt - it doesn't fit me. Inbound sales I can do and am doing - they call me because they want something. Interrupting someone's day to try to convince them to buy something they DON'T want is a horse of an entirely different colour.
If I were desperate I'd probably do anything to support my family and my cats... but I wouldn't want to work in an abattoir - or maybe I would because if |I saw any cruelty I'd report it and get it stopped.. The experience would probably turn me vegetarian though.
I can't imagine doing any job that involved physical effort, uncomfortable conditions, getting too close to people, sales, telemarketing or bodily fluids. It's a good thing that some of us just want to sit at a desk and work on a computer.
