    I am not sure I have experienced that.. I have experienced it where I wasn't keen on someone but once I got to know them and got used to their ways, I found them actually pretty ok.

      This reminds me of my active duty days when I returned from being deployed overseas* and had to adjust and/or re-adjust to changes in my wife and children, and they in me. This is a common (and not always easy/successfully) circumstance of military couples and military families.
