    Interesting film.
I had to parallel park for my test, but it is no longer required in Ohio.

  • That's why I asked.  I've been hearing that some states are deeming it unnecessary.

One still needs to be able to do so on many side streets and downtown here.

That may be because some cars do it for you now-a-days. Something I would not believe to work but some do.

  • These are sad times indeed.  My car doesn't even have an automatic transmission (and never will!). If I didn't want to drive, I'd take the bus!

Simple enough if you know how to do it.

  • Just like most things. Thanks for your reply, MorningStar. :)

Nope. I wonder if they would let me cheat with my micro car anyway?

  • I'm not sure that would be cheating.  When I got my Class A, the DMV had us use 28' trailers.  It was like parking a car!  :)

There is a U.S. Steel plant in Lorain,Ohio that requires you do a really wacky bunch of manuvering to get next to a dock for a side load. Took me a while.

  • I remember the Chicago Farmer's Market. Blind-side back and this guy, some kind of supervisor tells me to watch him and do what he directs me to do ... "Take your eyes off of me and you're out!"  he says.  That was a scary time!

      Did the supervisor do well?

  • I didn't hit anything!  Problem was ... if I ran into anything, he wouldn't be legally responsible.

Yes, and fortunately, I did it much better then than I do now. :)

  • That's one of those ... "if you don't use it, you'll loose it" deals, right!?  :)

Probably.  I rarely have to parallel park these days.

I think so but I don't seem to remember. But, again, it took me three separate times to get my license. And, after the second time my permit expired, so I had to take that test again, too, to get a permit again.
    :)

I have to do this on occasion with a tractor-trailer. I only do it if I have no other choice.

  • Well, this wasn't expressly just for semis, I just figured it would be easier to find this, on YouTube, than somebody parking a car.  Class C licenses are eligible to answer as well.  Thanks for your answer though, either way.  :)
