Perhaps you've forgotten that you need a comma after the word 'works'. It separates the two clauses if the sentence you've written, as evidenced by the fact that the next word is an interjection.

You know, you have to deliberately come here in order to be nasty.  If you don't like her grammar, don't come to her corner.  Pretty simple, if you ask me.

Ya but is it as  simple  as that? About a week ago a new member posted a friendly how do you do type of question - Randy D's  reply was pointing out the grammar mistake. This is a question and answer site not a Randy D spelling B site and I think by him doing that there is a danger of this site not getting new members or lose some of the ones it all ready has. Cheers!

He does that to everyone, but when he does it in the main questions, it's an open forum.  When he deliberately comes to Rosie's Corner, he is targeting her specifically.  I do understand what you're saying and I agree that there are people who will take offense at being corrected and not come back.  However, that is something that is in the purview of the owner of the site.

All of AnswerMug is an open forum. If Rosie's Corner were private, or has an expectation of privacy, she should do what I suggested years ago and initiate her own website wherein she could bar or ban people from accessing it if that's her desire.
She has the right to post whatever she wants, and no one is restricted from responding. I don't "target" Rosie. She posts, I respond, its it's as simple as that.  I don't suck up to her or kiss her hindquarters. For such a big girl, she certainly doesn't seem any worse for wear at my responses, in fact, she prides herself on ignoring me. Those of you who jump to her defense are well within your rights to voice your opinions.

Speaking of the owner of the site, a compromise was reached by giving Rosie her own corner because all of the Anti-Rosie criticism had been loud and clear and often and overlapping. Even after getting her own corner, she has kept up the same pace of her negativity. Rosie cares little about scaring people away, just as long as she gets her daily doses of hatred injected into the site.  Read any online review of AnswerMug, and you'll see who runs people off from here.  If I ever reach the level of infamy that she's gained, I would be ashamed. She's proud of it.

I cannot speak to why Rosie does what she does or acts the way she acts.  I can only go by the experience I've had with her, which have been mostly positive.  There have been times when I have disagreed with her, but we agreed to disagree.  We are all imperfect people in an imperfect world.

That's both funny and ironic, Nanoose, that you would post something in Rosie's Corner about me doing something that chases people away from this website.  Rosie herself is one of the top reasons people have stated they leave or have left this website. Sure, many people dislike my stance on grammar. I dislike poor grammar, especially when it's intentional or due to apathy. You and anyone else on this planet has every right to take exception to my take on grammar.  I claim the same right to take exception to poor grammar.

I have never touted that this website is Randy D's spelling bee site, that's your assertion. (In fact, this particular rebuttal of mine is about punctuation and sentence structure, not about spelling, but I digress.)

I run a far cry behind good ol' Rosie in chasing people away from AnswerMug, and if anyone of you who defend her find that insignificant, how about if I were to adopt her very attitude on chasing people away: she's stated more than once that she doesn't care one bit what people think about what she writes.

There's nothing nasty about what I wrote. If I were to accuse you of being nasty for your response, you would have to be a hypocrite if I were correct. At no point have I stated that I like or do not like her grammar. If you don't like what I write in her corner, take your own advice and don't come here. You have just as much right as I do to opine as you see fit, don't you?

I don't understand why you feel the need to go after her.  You have plenty of others on the main forum that you can correct.  You and the others hounded her off the main forum and now she's in her own corner yet you people still feel the need to go after her.

It's not a feeling. I don't understand why she on one hand purports herself to be so superior, yet on the other hand is immune to anyone disagreeing with her.

One piece of the puzzle is that Rosie and I have history, and it goes back almost a decade. Would you believe that initially, Rosie and I got along very, very well? We happily communicated with each other on the now defunct AnswerBag, we were like two bugs snug in a rug. She had cordial words of praise for me, much like those she currently shares with those of you she holds dear. Then one day she suddenly turned on me, lashing out on anger and baring figurative claws. Not long after, we were friends again, until the next time she exploded on me. This love-hate thing see-sawed back and forth for a while, and then on a particular downswing, she decided that I was persona non grata and began to snipe at things I wrote. One of her penchants was about grammar, and she lifted herself on a high-horse pedestal about how great she was. Even in her greatness, she's a fallible human, makes mistakes every now and then as we all do, yet she's not humble enough to ever admit error. (Have you noticed she never edits any of her mistakes?). This began a battle in which she would staunchly stride her throne of holier-than-thouness, yet we lowly mortals were expected to bow down to her marvelousness.

There are many things in life we don't understand, many acts that people commit we don't comprehend. If and when Rosie decides she wants to be a bit more pleasant, it will most likely change my interactions with her in a more positive light. If she keeps on her same slant, I'll most likely keep on mine.

I appreciate your explaining why there is a chasm between the two of you.  I was not on AnswerBag and I haven't been on here that long to know the history between and among some of you.  I am sorry that circumstances have led to the two of you not getting on.  I haven't had those experiences with her myself, but I understand that you have and that has colored your responses to her.

So, i apologize if I stepped out of my lane and, henceforth, will try not to do it again.  I would like very much to get along with you.  Peace.

I'm going to do something that nobody else on this thread has bothered to do - answer the question.

My memory isn't quite eidetic but it's close - there is quite a lot I'd like to forget but can't.

The upside is that I'm also less likely to forget the things I want to remember.

((hugs))   One of the reasons we have been long-time pals Sbf. You answer the question I ask for which I thank you now and retroactively if I ever forgot to do so. I had to look up eidetic so thank you for the new word. An actress whom you may know of, Marylou Henner, is one of a very special group of folks who have phenomenal memories. You can give her a date years before and ask what she did that day or what happened in the world that day and she will tell you. I think they have a club or something. She will tell you what day it was a well. A Sunday or a Wednesday or whatever. I don't know if there is any correlation to high intelligence and a photographic memory. I"m gonna ask. I have a very good memory about some things and not at all about other things. During my sparring with cancer in 2008 I was told that one of the side effects of chemo could be memory loss.  They weren't kidding so there's stuff I experienced that is lost to me forever. No big deal. Thank you for your reply and Happy Saturday! :) This post was edited by RosieG at September 8, 2018 7:22 AM MDT

I think many be we all might have a bit of a photographic memory for the things we really like to do Rosie......If you love cooking you can remember recipes without thinking ,have instant recall about thousands of films you e seen.....
How does someone remember how to play a piano or violin , their fingers move without thinking......
How does a singer remember the words to so many songs ,plus the tones they need to be sung in....
Our brains are selective I think and unique to us all.....:)

Excellent points D. Do you know who the actress Marylou Henner is? She is someone with a very unique ability to remember things. Give her a date and she will tell you what day it was and what occurred on that day if it is something that might have gotten publicity and she will tell you what she did on that day. I think these folks belong to some kind of club and they have been researched and examined and tested up one side and down the other. What causes one person to have that ability to that extent I'm not sure anyone knows. But I think it would be a huge burden not to be able to forget anything. I guess everything we experience is in our subconscious and these folks are able to access it more easily. I'm not sure. Thank you for your reply! :)

There was a black autistic boy of about eight years old ...he was shown a photo of Big Ben and the Houses or Parliament on the banks of the River Thames ....he was allowed to view the photo for five seconds and hemthen sketched it perfectly in minute detail.....
You maybe have some unique brain Memory features and nor realise it ...:)
