I am an early bird too.. just always have been. I think my generation were more of the kind who got up early... My remaining kids are still asleep.. one will not get up until 4pm this afternoon! The other will emerge somewhere after 12...

I’m pushing 40. I have been an early bird almost my entire life. Even when I worked the swing shift at work.

Early bird. I love nature and I can sit on my front porch and watch all of the real early birds come out. It's quiet, no traffic, peaceful. Doesn't get any better.

Agreed.. I hate wasps... and if you get out early enough they aren't about :P It's also much nicer to get into the supermarket when it's early as you can get out quicker without all those people in the way :P

I don't hate them...I respect them and keep my distance. My wife was stung last month, so I had to kill off the underground hive. I didn't like doing that, but they were very close to our shed. We also have two bumblebee nest underground in our back yard. I convinced her that unless you try to pick them up or swat and hit one they don't sting.

  • I'm up in time to watch the sun rise.  When it's not cloudy I say "Good morning, old friend".

Well it gives me a chance to jog and make my husband's breakfast and lunch before I shower and go to work.  Up at 5 A.M., at work usually by 7.  Which I have done for years. Nor much of a night person since I was young and I am asleep by 10 or 10:30 P.M. nights.  Sometimes earlier.

I'm definitely an early bird (also called a lark).

I think both owls and larks have equal advantages and disadvantages.  Although the advantages and disadvantages aren't always exactly opposite, they do balance out.  Of course, what an owl might consider to be an advantage, a lark might consider a disadvantage (and vice versa).

That lark better not be lurking when the owl is prowling.

Given the choice, I am a night owl, but I have to get up early three days a week for work.
