My favorite super hero as a child and adult was/is Underdog. :)
P.S. Not to take away from the light-heartedness of the question, but I also remember when, in about fifth grade, I read about Harriet Tubman. Her story floored me and deeply moved me. She'd be a real-life superhero to me.

I know I am, I really feel for those that have lost their parents for any reason or for those that have never known them from birth... I can only really say that I empathize with you ...xxxxxxxx
I was Superman and Spiderman more than any others. All it took was a towel and a safety pin to transform me from Clark Kent, and my webs could sling around multiple corners. An old junk car was my base. Those were really good times. When I was grown I realized I have to be my own superhero. No one else is going to swoop down and save the day. I suppose my superheros taught me to be independent.
