What do you do with your nose snot?

Just a moment ago, I watched my husband reading the paper and picking his nose.
I waited, knowing what was coming.

He twirled it between his fingers, popped it in his mouth, and chewed.
At which moment I asked, "What does it taste like?"
He looked up, startled, then swallowed and burst into laughter, and so did I.
Then he said, "like moist bread, except tasteless."

"Why do you eat it?"
"Because it's the most convenient way to get rid of it," he answered.

Hmm.
I keep a tissue or hanky nearby.

Others sprinkle it wherever they happen to be.

Others pop it out the window at traffic lights.

Presumably, many people save it for times when they visit the loo.
Which must mean quite a lot of clogged and itchy noses out there in the lands of the polite.
What do you do?

A tissue or designated cloth. If I don’t have either I grossly blow my snot into a trash can as long as I’m alone.

Then you are the first official member of the Muggers Polite Snot Brigade, maybe the second if I'm the first.
    Welcome! :)
    Free tissues provided.
A whole box of tissues on the anniversary,
and a packet of finest handkerchiefs when you reach 10 years membership.

Our food has been homegrown and organic for scores of years.

S'not on our national menus either,
though I imagine Basil Fawlty could turn it into a three-star Michelin speciality.

    Yep. One of our favourites.
Have been watching the reruns for years and somehow never get tired of it.
    Love anything with John Cleese,
and much prefer the top British comedians to most of the US ones.

    Ah! Thanks for the suggestion!

I wonder if he'll notice the slight difference in the texture this evening. ;)

I just asked him how he'd like it if I added snot to the sauce.
He burst out laughing again and replied,
"not if it's yours, but I'll supply you with mine if you like." This post was edited by inky at September 20, 2018 10:26 PM MDT

    Definitely.
We both think food tastes better when eaten direct from the hand,
as if there is some reflex unconscious signal from the brain.
Even better if we feed each other.
In our house, licking the fingers or the plate is considered a compliment to the cook.
    (We take cooking in turns.)

Woops - now I've really made us sound like a pair of orangutans.

Haven't yet. He's free to do as he sees fit.

Thanks for the idea - might try it; pretty sure he'd have a good laugh. :)

I have blown my nose 'western style' outdoors when no one is around and I have no paper towels handy. You put one finger over a nostril and blow it out. Sometimes a length of snot will hang down.  Then you gotta shake it off. This post was edited by B.H.Wilson at September 21, 2018 4:37 PM MDT
