What do you do with your nose snot?

Just a moment ago, I watched my husband reading the paper and picking his nose.
I waited, knowing what was coming.

He twirled it between his fingers, popped it in his mouth, and chewed.
At which moment I asked, "What does it taste like?"
He looked up, startled, then swallowed and burst into laughter, and so did I.
Then he said, "like moist bread, except tasteless."

"Why do you eat it?"
"Because it's the most convenient way to get rid of it," he answered.

Hmm.
I keep a tissue or hanky nearby.

Others sprinkle it wherever they happen to be.

Others pop it out the window at traffic lights.

Presumably, many people save it for times when they visit the loo.
Which must mean quite a lot of clogged and itchy noses out there in the lands of the polite.
What do you do?

Well, I confess, I do ask him to brush his teeth and rinse.
    But then again,
it's possible that whatever saliva and snot are made of is probably very similar.

Tissues - frequently toilet paper. Cheaper and softer than "facial" tissues.

I don't understand people who eat it. Makes me nauseous thinking about it. I use a Kleenex. Not too difficult to do so!

When this critical situation needs to be addressed, there are many options that can be used.  It depends on the consistency of the snot and my environment.
The most common and polite option that I use is some sort of soft paper product.  The trees don't really appreciate it but it is one most of us favor.
Another is a gentlemen's handkerchief. Since they are rarely used these days and gentlemen are few and far between, I have only had one opportunity to use this.  I felt so badly, I didn't give him his hanky back.  I didn't think it would polite.  I DID replace it.  I had the opportunity to do so because it was my dad.  Even he didn't want the hanky back. ;)  Ick.
One I use more often than the handkerchief is "the farmer's blow" or as bhwilson calls it, 'western style.'  He is right!  You do get danglers when your snot is runny.  I used the back of my long-sleeved shirt to get those off.  This way is also good when you are taking a shower.  No shirt necessary with the danglers.
There is the dig and roll and pop method.  This is what your husband is using.  You dig it out and roll it in your hands for a while.  When the consistency is just right you pop it in your mouth.  I haven't used this method since I was about 6 years old.  I'm glad to see your husband is keeping it around.
And finally there is the dreaded running facet of snot you just can't control.  This is not really an option nor is there a method to it.  Unfortunately, this happens to me around allergy season.  There is clear snot that continually runs out your nose.  There is nothing you can do except keep trying to wipe it off.  It normally irritates me under my nose and leaves my skin red.
The only thing I have tried to do when this is happening is stick a twisted peice of toliet paper up my nostril to stop it from leaking down into my mouth.
There you have it.  All the things and ways I deal with my nose snot.  :) :)
