Worry excessively over that which I cannot change.

(and it wasn't even a big deal in the first place and I was only trying to help anyway)

Accepted three extra/overtime shifts next week at work. On second thought, it’s a good idea after the amount of money I just paid for car repairs. So it would be the other day when I agreed to be acting lieutenant at work for a shift. It wasn’t a busy day and I did was run to alarms and fake medical emergencies. It led to tons of paperwork, which I HATE.

  • Gotten involved with someone I shouldn't have gotten involved with. It ended up in high drama and the loss of a friendship.

Lenina, I'm shocked, utterly shocked! H...ho...how, how can you talk that way about what we had together?  I thought it was special, I thought it was a lot of fun, I thought it meant as much to you as it did to me!  There wasn't a lot of drama, there were laughs and good times . . . oh, wait. You're not talking about me at all, are you?

      Oops. Never mind.

  • No, I certainly wasn't talking about you, Randy. There was never any drama with you but we just wanted different things in life. I'll just have to keep moving forward at this point. Please let the children know that I miss them and that I'll try to see them during the holidays. If not, I'll send postcards from Bali if the hot yoga instructor can take the time off of work. Either way, I'll be thinking of you all ~

(Folks, I wonder if she even thinks about me all the way out there in Bali.)

  • Well, you have a point, Randy. But I still wish you well. I'll pick up the cat when I return from Bali. I miss him.

The cat, folks. She only misses the cat. I gave her the best years of my life, gave up a lucrative career in the tilde exchange field, fathered seven of her nine children, and this is how she thanks me.  (Sniff.)

  • But wait, Randy. I did let you keep all the nice gifts from Aunt Beatrice. I know the crocheted toilet paper cover was your favorite. That should count for something.

You know, you're right. I did have the hots for Aunt Beatrice for many years, even after she was committed against her will to that home due to her anger issues.  How is she doing, by the way?

Shhhhhhhh. Don't ruin things for me, Element.

The less Jane knows about my dalliances the better.  No matter how far I stray, I'll always bounce back to her.

  • Well then. The truth comes out after all these years. I haven't seen Aunt B. in years, but I'm sure she would appreciate a visit from you. You might want to pick her up some of her favorite chocolate-covered prunes before you head over to see her. Kindly give her my regards.

I'll send her the chocolate-covered prunes ahead of time.  Do you think twelve hours before my arrival would be good?

  • Although I've yet to try them, I'm sure she'll enjoy the primes much better than the prunes since she's far past hers. Twelve hours should be sufficient but just remember that her bedtime is 7 PM, prompt.
