Did you ever carry around a clipboard to make people think you were important?

Being a south-paw, clipboards made me hate the damn things. I wore glasses to look smart, but that didn't work out either.

No, I carried a clipboard around because I had to.  It's not my fault if other people assumed I was important.  I also wore my glasses near the end of my nose, but that was only so I could see what was on the clipboard and do my job at the same time (lousy bifocals).

Yes, and I put on my "very friendly and sexy look" and it worked!

Well, I get in an elevator at work and the guy(s) automatically pull out their iPhones as if to say, "Hey, I'm really important, I must check to see if I have received any calls/texts since I left the office 2 seconds ago."

I don't have an iPhone and even if I did, I wouldn't think that anyone would be impressed by it.

I don't have one either. They were around for years before I even knew what they were.

I've had one for a while, but I use it when I need to call someone.  Otherwise, it's off.

Well, you just taught me something---I though pulling out one's iPhone like that meant, "Yes, I fear direct human contact."

There's nothing to fear in a 1 minute elevator ride.

Actually I do carry a clipboard to my conservation commission meetings.  Don't know how important it makes me look but is a convenient way of keeping all my papers together.

Not to look important, but to make people think I was working when I was actually just wandering around aimlessly. Worked every time.

I did and I even glued a couple of plastic googly eyes on the back of my clip board so that people would pay attention when I was writing things down. Cheers and happy weekend!
