I do know. They actually COULDN'T film that bit - do you remember what the five boys and one girl did to keep Pennywise down the first time in the book version? A gang bang per se doesn't bother me in fiction - except these were eleven-year-old children. Not cool. Stephen King has a diseased mind - probably keeps it in a jar on his desk next to "the heart of a small boy".

I'm aware of the scene, yes. Shocking and disturbing, for certain, but I think that was the intent. Did it cross a line of decency? Yes, but I'm ok with that at times if no one was actually harmed. But having a diseased mind? I don't know enough about him personally to characterize him as such.
There are many writers over the years who have been criticized for crossing lines of decency, including the poet, Geoffrey Chaucer. I'm not comparing the two writers, but sometimes, crossing lines is just what creative minds do.
Did he write a couple of books with similar titles? I can't keep up with King. I did read "Needful Things" but I haven't read "Needless Things." Yeah, I liked the "Needful Things" book. I think they made a movie of it, too? I seem to remember a movie - - but I may have liked the book a bit more than the movie (if they made a movie of it, ha!)
I'd go down to the community park and make the crake dealers that are selling to youth think that they have to walk across the Straight Of Georgia. Cheers!
