So the United States terrorist-in-chief sez "I AM A NATIONALIST". Does that make America a NATIONALISTIC COUNTRY? Are YOU a NATIONALIST TOO?

Great company you've chosen if you are. Wonderful folks like Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini, Vlad Putin, Duterte of the Philippines, that Saudi Arabia butcher Crown Prince. Were they all to get together to celebrate NATIONALISM what kind of entertainment would be featured? Dismembering those who criticize them?. Eviscerating vilifying those who despise them?

I am proud of my country and its greatest institutions which have made it possible for me to live a happy, productive,  and helpful life.  Which I would have been less able to do elsewhere.  I believe that what makes a civilized world is community beginning with a family unit as part of a local community, then part of a state, a country, and the world.

Oh my gosh Sbf! You are so BRILLIANT! Geez I never saw that coming but you are absotively posilutely right on the money! I LOVE IT! I think you might just have coined a new truer description of all Nationalists. They're all Nazionalists! Since Hitler was a Nationalist and a Nazi I wonder why no one ever thought of that nifty conflation before? Thank you for your superduper reply and it's definitely a KEEPER! Happy Friday too! :)

The word Nazi is derived from the German word for nationalist. Hitler, Mussolini, Franco and the architects of South Africa's brutal apartheid regime were all nationalists.

To be more accurate, it is derived from the German word for National Socialist.

Nazi is short for The National Socialist German Workers' Party, or the NSDAP: In German, Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterparte. This is the simple explanation, the term Nazi was complex and meant many things.

The name swastika comes from Sanskrit (Devanagariस्वस्तिक, pronounced: swastik) and denotes "conducive to well being or auspicious".[7][8] In Hinduism, the clockwise symbol is called swastika, symbolizing surya (sun), prosperity and good luck, while the counterclockwise symbol is called sauvastika, symbolizing night or tantric aspects of Kali.[8] In Jainism, a swastika is the symbol for Suparshvanatha—the seventh of 24 Tirthankaras (spiritual teachers and saviours), while in Buddhism it symbolizes the auspicious footprints of the Buddha.[8][9][10]

Idol of Jain TirthankaraSuparshvanath with his swastika symbol below it.

The swastika is an icon widely found in human history and the modern world.[4][8] In various forms it is alternatively known in various European languages as the Hakenkreuzgammadioncross cramponnéecroix gamméefylfot or tetraskelion and in East Asia as the wàn 卐/卍/萬, meaning "all things", and the manji. A swastika generally takes the form of a cross whose arms are of equal length and perpendicular to the adjacent arms, each bent midway at a right angle.[11][12] It is found in the archeological remains of the Indus Valley Civilization and Mesopotamia as well as in early Byzantine and Christian artwork.[4][8]

The swastika was adopted by several organizations in pre–World War I Europe and later, and most notably, by the Nazi Party and Nazi Germany prior to World War II. It was used by the Nazi Party to symbolize German nationalistic pride. To Jews and the enemies of Nazi Germany, it became a symbol of antisemitism and terror.[5] In many Western countries, the swastika is viewed as a symbol of racial supremacy and intimidation because of its association with Nazism.[6][13][14] The reverence for the swastika symbol in Asian cultures, in contrast to the stigma in the West, has led to misinterpretations and misunderstandings.[15][16]

    Etymology and nomenclature[edit]

The word swastika has been used in the Indian subcontinent and the middle east since 500 BC.[17] Its appearance in English is more recent. In the 1870s, replacing gammadion, from Greek γαμμάδιον.[11] It is alternatively spelled in contemporary texts as svastika,[18]while in the 19th- and early 20th-century, alternate spellings such as suastika were occasionally used.[19] It was derived from the Sanskritterm (Devanagariस्वस्तिक), which transliterates to svastika under the commonly used IAST transliteration system, but is pronounced closer to "swastika" when letters are used with their English values. The first attested use of the word swastika in a European text is found in 1871 with the publications of Heinrich Schliemann, who while crudely digging the Hisarlik mound near the Aegean Sea coast, for the lost history of Troy (Trojan war), discovered over 1,800 ancient samples of the swastika symbol and its variants. Schliemann linked his findings to the Sanskrit swastika.[13][20][21]

The word swastika derives from the Sanskrit root swasti, which is composed of su, ("good, well") and asti ("it is, there is").[22] The word swasti occurs frequently in the Vedas and it means "well, good, auspicious, luck, success, prosperity".[23][24] Swastika is a derived word and connotes a form of welcome or a sign of something "associated with well-being".[23] According to Monier-Williams, a majority of scholars consider it a solar symbol, and in the ancient Indian texts the base swasti is equivalent to "may it be well with thee! hail! health! adieu! so be it!".[23] The sign implies something fortunate, lucky or auspicious, and when applied to entrances, doors, mandalas or object it denotes or reminds of auspiciousness or well-being.[23]

The earliest known textual use of the word swastika is in Panini's Ashtadhyayi, which uses it to explain one of the Sanskrit grammar rules, in the context of a type of identifying mark on a cow's ear.[22] Most scholarship suggests Panini lived in or before mid 4th-century BCE(floruit),[25][26] possibly in 6th or 5th century BCE.[27][28]

The vedic swastika is always figured parallel/perpendicular to the baseline of the field. I have Hindu workmates who have pointed this out to me (six of the team of eighteen folks I work with are from India, including the supervisor, a Sikh).
The Nazi bastardisation of it is at 45 degrees - twisted, just like everything else about this ideology.

A Nationalist is just proud of their country, their nation, they want to maintain there sovereignty and the custom and cultures of their countries and so battles against globalisation a one world government if you will.  Interestingly, the far left members in the UK ie the Labour camp have mainly been Fabian society members, even our Mayor Siqqui Khan is.  The Fabian Society was started with George Bernard Shaw, who greatly admired Hitler and Stalin, and believe that the undesirables and rebels of the world should be humanely gassed.

Thank you for your reply kj. Here's my take on that. Nationalists are selfish SOB's. Globalists share with others as the needs arise. Simple. Nationalists say "STAY AWAY". Globalists say "welcome". Nationalists fear everyone and everything as an "enemy"  who want to take everything they have whereas Globalists look at it the way Will Rogers did who said "I never met a man I didn't like". Nationalists are fine. I'm not one of them. They offer me nothing of interest but they interest one another so what does it matter if I reject them? No skin off my nose or theirs. You have a right to align yourself with whomever makes sense to you. There is an AYN RAND contingent of folks who believe like Gordon GEKKO  that GREED IS GOOD. Then there are the others like me who think greed isn't a good. Different strokes.

Thank you for your reply RosieG I hope you are well. For me the world is far more complicated from my prospective, do you believe that a globalist world should do away with people's history, culture and religion?
Each country or race of peoples have always historically followed that of their own culture and religion unless enslaved and the next generation bred in captivity.  Say for example, would you be ok with the US becoming an Islamic state if that was to become the majority and therefore the democracy?  See, Jews in Israel understand that if their country is not predominantly Jewish, then it loses it's democracy which is why it has built a giant wall, much like the one Trump suggests, (no idea is original) because there was also the great wall of China designed for the same purpose.  Israel was created with the request of the Rothschild's one of the richest and most influential families in the world.

Because in order to create a globalist agenda one must first remove any idea of individualism, ie religion, sovereignty, culture, freedom of speech (political correctness) which is why many communist countries have done the same thing, and what that leaves is "obedient workers."

This is why it is in fact the LEFT that are more likely to bring in a communist agenda, or at least a communist agenda disguised as a Marxist Socialist agenda. The elite didn't defeat Hitler because they disagreed with what he did, the US certainly jumped on Hitler's ideas of brainwashing and eugenics in the form of their own experiments on it's people with eugenics and MKUltra, but they thought Hitler came too soon.
The Fabian society doesn't just have political membership in the UK it is world wide, it's emblem is a wolf in sheep's clothing, it's symbol of a tortoise which states "when I strike I strike hard."  And it will, because it is pushing people towards being for a globalist communist state by using Trump, it gives you the thing to push against without you even knowing it. This is what they call "Order out of Chaos."   I'll leave a link of George Bernard Shaw and you can see if you agree with what he says since he started the Fabian society, he was for everyone being fed and looked after, but if anyone didn't want to be part of the plan then they'd be humanely gassed.

Now I don't like Trump either I think he is a dangerous pillock, but he know's what he is doing, and that is what the shadow cabinet have told him, his advisors are the real ones who are in charge, same as our country.  I neither agree with the Left or the Right, but those extremes are what our countries promote and polarization is unhealthy because it promotes chaos, which is what they want, they do not want balance because it is through polarization that they control you. It is one world. The humans that inhabit it are born, live and die. We all share that fate which we cannot escape. We are all in the same boat going in the same ultimate direction/destination.. I think of Globalism as a tapestry. Not a solid piece of single-color cloth as you seem to do. Being a globalist in my view in no way erases individuality. I am of Armenian descent. We have a language and foods and traditions and a culture that we celebrate in our homes and in our churches. As do other ethnic groups who are in America. BUT we are Americans. Why can't we retain our individuality and cultures while we embrace and respect the cultures of others without having to become an amalgam or vegetable soup? Are you saying that one cannot be cooperative and helpful to others if one doesn't get swallowed up by them, absorbed by them? If that is what you are saying then your view of globalism and mine are orders of magnitude apart. So it is what it is. We are different. We see things differently. I like the tapestry analogy. An  intricate design made up of many many threads and colors. Yet is one piece. United. My view of globalism. Thank you for your reply kj. It is one world RosieG, but a very different place depending on where you wake up.  For the greater part the US has the privilege of so-called freedom, of rights, etc.  But where you wake up in a world makes a difference to your quality of life, how would you like the global religion to be like an Islamic State? Or in Hinduism where you can be an untouchable? Or in Communist China where you are treated as a collective and not as an individual, where you would be unable to criticise your leader without punishment and have NO individualism? People think atheism is freedom, it isn't because atheism takes away your God given rights, rights that make you equal by birth to everyone else on this planet, and it hands those rights over to humans, and humans can take away those rights.  In fact in law GOD is defined as the judge, not what religion believes is God.  This law system came out of the Enlightenment under the apt name of the Leviathan. The elites are the head, and we are the foot soldiers, the pawns.

President Trump, like Hilary, Obama they are globalist communists, or Marxist socialist which is why they speak in a collective sense, and not in an individual sense, just as both Stalin and Hitler did.  They have the same advisors as eachother, because they are puppets for the same people, but no one ever looks at who is behind Trump, if they did they'd see the same people who were behind Hilary, they are two sides of the same coin.

In order to best control a people, the elite now know that communism is the best way, they tried the other ways, but Stalin is the most admired by them. Communism eradicates religion, in a global world it will eradicate sovereignty, culture, and individualism, and money but it always have a dictator.  The least there is to divide people, the easier they are to control, and the only thing left is obedient workers, which is what China is full of, which is why it has the largest economy because it exports the most goods, and works the longest hours.

Globalism will HAVE to replace or eradicate in order to bring about control and it does this insidiously, whilst keeping a persons focus on something trivial in comparison.  No one in the US or UK has any privacy anymore, and this is due to the addiction of the internet and mobile phone use, people will willingly carry their spy device around with them, lay out everything about their lives upon it, and these devices collect and store your data (who you speak to, where you've been, what websites you access as it follows your IP address), including your facial recognition and what your voice sounds like, the telephone calls you make, your fingerprints.  Their goes your freedom and they've done it insidiously, in fact people enjoy it so much they willingly hand over everything, every private thought.

Anything with SMART is a spy device basically.  Money will soon be obsolete because people are using contactless payment, (their phones again), in fact it won't be long until the elites utmost want is in place which will be a RFID chip, after all this generation has gotten so use to holding one IN their hand, what difference is it to actually place it in it. We've also been desensitized for years with credit and debit cards.  Then they will have total control, because whoever controls the monetary supply controls the world. You know how polarized a country is when it has two extreme political parties and no balance, when this happens they can only push you from one extreme to another but hope that no one starts seeing the Hollywood production for what it is.. a distraction from the truth. This link is interesting..

We mailed our ballots in on October 19 Sharon. Now we wait! As of a few days ago there were 7 MILLION early voters. Compared to this time in the 2014 mid-term election there had been 2 million early voters. I'm hoping the bigger numbers will give success to the Dems but the voter suppression going on in EVERY SINGLE red state and the dirty tricks could well prevent that from happening. So we wait. If Dems regain the House majority there will be a bajillion investigations  that begin immediately of the current government as well as the start of impeachment proceedings. Which super don knows. I don't know how big the superdon network of dirty tricksters thugs and computer hackers is. With  kickapoo joy juice newly sitting on the Supremes you know anything that goes to thme for resolution vis a vis election tampering will accrue to the benefit of the trumpicans. So it's a tossup as far as I'm concerned. Will truth win or will lies once again remain victorious? SIGH. Thank you for your reply.

This is the most important moment in our historical lives and most people do not even know this.

How can they not?  Is ignorance really bliss, Rosie, or is it just putting off the inevitable ruin by being ignorant and doing nothing.

Unfortunately, you and I have been cast into the lot that gets to watch either the world turn and improve or the world burn and devolve.  We get to watch.  Pray for us all.

I am hopeful.  I know I sound like doom and gloom but I trust that there is still great good on earth.
