Does anyone think they should bring back dangerous playground equipment?

I always thought they played an important role in natural selection.

No one should see their child maimed or killed on unsafe playground equipment.

  • Keep them in the basement and they likely won't be exposed to any danger.

No need, kids don’t even go outside anymore.  This post was edited by Don Barzini at November 12, 2018 1:34 AM MST

    We still have those. Lol

They were fun. Spinning them faster and faster until we fell off.
Can buy a brand new 10ft for $2000

  • Yeah, we used to get on them and take turns spinning it faster from the outside. Then we would jump off when it slowed down just enough for you to take a tumble into the sand.

At one time when we were considered able enough and intelligent enough to properly use such equipment it was not considered "dangerous" at all.  Which goes to show unfit we have become since then for life in general.

Well when I was a kid I did find it funny watching a buddy run around with a big splinter in their butt from the wooden slide but now that I have a Grand daughter I'm glad play ground equipment is designed to be safe for kids. Our community park has lots of fun play equipment but kids don't get hurt on it  and if they do fall off they have rubber padding on the ground - the padding is made from recycled car tires so that's pretty cool too. grand daughter granddaughter. It's one word! I wish I knew why so many multi-syllabic words get broken into two, whether by lack of knowledge or autocorrect.

Playgrounds are still pretty dangerous. I knew someone who was killed on a swing.

I do not think they should bring back carcinogenic and other insanely dangerous equipment.

Well the monkey bars were dangerous but that rusty old merry go round never killed anyone.

  • Not one casualty? That's surprising and possibly disappointing.
