Because the alternative is so bad.  Only crazy people will really support trump but the rest of us have no choice with hillary in the race.  A corrupt criminal who has been openly accepting bribes for years, that cannot be allowed as president.

If you make it hard enough for criminal immigrants to get jobs, they'll go home.  Fine the hell out of any business which has illegals on the books & hasn't used e-verify.  No, e-verify isn't perfect, but it's a damn sight better than doing nothing.

$50,000 fine per illegal, plus jail time for whoever hired AND for other execs, and we'll see fewer businesses hiring illegals.  Target places like construction companies, restaurants, hotels, meat packing plants & landscape businesses.

The absurdity doesn't come from an assumption, it comes from looking realistically at his proposals and realizing there's no practical way to implement even half of them.

Faced with the choice betweeb two corrupt criminals, I'll go with the one who actually understands the mechanics of government and politics, and has actual experience with domestic and foreign policy.

You think the guy who has made a point of hiring cheap foreign labour whenever and wherever he can, is actually going to implement policies to make that more difficult?

Why not just make it easier for people to come across and work seasonally, the way they used to? Then US companies get the cheap labour they want, and Mexican families are better off, basically it's a win-win.

You can manipulate the hell out of people if you play on there fantasies and frustrations.  It doesn't matter how realistic or productive your ideas are in this respect.  Trump knows this and it really is his talent.  He knows his audience and what they want to hear.  It's no different than a really hot chick flirting with a guy to get something out of him,  really he knows he has no chance but eats it up because it plays on his thoughts and wants.  Very Machiavellian.

And American workers are screwed over because they won't work for as little as the immigrants do.

And what about companies that bring in skilled IT people from India (for example) and pay them 40% less than they'd have to pay Americans to do the same job?

Seasonal farm work is one thing, and I'd even make those jobs exempt from payroll taxes, since the workers shouldn't ever be eligible for Social Security anyway.

Perhaps he doesn't believe what he says.

Perhaps he has no realistic idea of what it would take or the means possible.

Perhaps he suffers from grandiosity and narcissism.

Perhaps he has megalomaniac delusions.

Business owners LIKE cheap labor BR. That's what they get when they hire illegals who are grateful for any job. Talk is cheap . So are many business owners. They go the cheap route to increase their bottom line and they don't give a dam* if they have to hire illegals to do it. I think they get away with it because America is a capitalist society and making money is the goa . Whatever it takes. Cheap labor facilities making more money. And there ya have it!
