Starting with the people at the car key factory, I would say yes, many people have seen your car keys. (That was too easy, why did you think you'd stump me with this trick question of yours?)

Why, do they look different from other people's car keys?

I went through hell yesterday morning.  I searched high and low for them because I needed to go to work.

I tried to call a cab.  You cannot call a cab.  You have to do it via the internet and get a reply via email.

    ARE YOU KIDDING ME????

It is so stressful, it takes a good half hour to read all this garbage and sign up.

    NO WAY.

Luckily after re-tracing my steps 1,000 times, I found them.

I must on my next day off, get some more car keys made.  Stupid of me, but that was my only one.

I get a copy of the car key, tie it to a business card, and stick it in that dark pocket of my wallet where nothing else ever goes. It's tied to a business card because a bare key falls out but a business card does not.

The current key has a radio fob and the copy does not, so the copy won't start the engine. But if I leave the key inside and the door locks, I can open the door with the copy.

It is surprisingly easy to lock doors by accident in modern vehicles.

BTW if you ever lock yourself out of your car, any car key that will fit into the slot has about a 10% chance of opening it. It might not even resemble your key. But it's a lot nicer to have a copy in your wallet. I am told that ladies usually don't carry a wallet. I refuse to speculate on that. This post was edited by Not Sure at December 8, 2018 7:05 PM MST
